Garyou Tensei is Baiken's second Instant Kill as it replaced Tate Shunmaku. It first appeared in Guilty Gear X.

Baiken's attack alludes to samurai films as her opponent gets slashed inside a room, their bodies' outlines visible. The move is too quick, and all that can be seen is the opponent's blood splattering on the white walls as they get destroyed.

In Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, Baiken cuts through the opponent inside a traditional washitsu house, and the sliding doors close behind her and the opponent. After a fish hops in the garden's pond, the door is splattered with the opponent's blood and the entire house is revealed to have been cut in half.

Trivia Edit

  • Garyoutensei is a four-character idiom for adding the finishing touches to a work or project, as it literally means "painting in the dragon's pupil", nodding to the most difficult and final part of the process.
