Attention!
This page is an official Guilty Gear Wiki policy or guideline, a standard that all editors should normally follow. Changes made to this page should reflect consensus.

There are many templates in use in Guilty Gear Wiki; these are only a subset, representing some of the most important and commonly used ones. If you feel that a template belongs on this page, do not hesitate to add it.

  • Category:Templates should cover all templates in the wiki, categorized into the various subcategories.
  • The Template namespace always has all templates in the wiki, sorted alphanumerically.

What are templates?

Wiki templates provide a means to insert the same content over and over in different (or the same) pages. This saves editors the hassle of duplicating the same text again and again, and also helps ensure consistency.

Template pages generally show the format required to use the template, along with what it looks like and how it is used. {{t|<template>}} allows you to show example template code (with a link to the templates) without using the template itself; it is used extensively on this page.

Detailed instructions on the usage of each template should exist on either the template page itself (inside "noinclude" tags).

Notice templates

Notice templates help article management or maintenance, so that all editors can check what needs to be done to improve our articles.

Mboxes

These templates are based off the Mbox or "message box" script. They must appear at the very TOP of an article, before the infobox, intro, or opening quote.

Template Usage
{{cleanup}} Add this when an article is not up to standards, adding it to Category:Articles in need of cleanup.
{{delete}} Add this to an article to nominate it for deletion, adding it to Category:Candidates for deletion.
{{expand}} Add this to request an article's expansion, adding it to Category:Articles to be expanded.
{{images}} Add this to request images or videos, adding it to Category:Articles needing images.
Other

These templates must appear at the END of an article or inside the section of an article.

Template Usage
{{disambig}} If several articles have similar or identical names, a "disambiguation" page should be created (e.g. Illyria). It will be added to Category:Disambiguations. For more info, read here.
